Late summer often offers some big challenges.&#160; My husband doesn\u2019t feel this way at all! You can check out a particularly hard day for me <a href=\"http:\/\/sailpandora.blogspot.com\/2009\/09\/leaving-maine-soon-and-heading-home.html\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000ff\">here<\/font><\/a> by clicking on the video.<\/p>\n<p>While sailing, I finished knitting (and partially sewing!) my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dovetaildesigns.com\/AKNIT\/Kimono.html\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000ff\">kimono cardigan<\/font><\/a> from Dovetail designs.&#160; I just tried it on and I love it!&#160; (I don\u2019t say that often.)&#160; I might not add the shawl collar since I like it so much as is!<a href=\"http:\/\/lh6.ggpht.com\/_wMHmSKIt2bg\/Sq5guioRfCI\/AAAAAAAABSg\/9CSoN1fHsiI\/s1600-h\/Sept.%2009%20009%5B3%5D.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: 0px\" title=\"Sept. 09 009\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Sept. 09 009\" align=\"left\" src=\"http:\/\/lh3.ggpht.com\/_wMHmSKIt2bg\/Sq5gu4nBjTI\/AAAAAAAABSk\/zjYCCgiNetM\/Sept.%2009%20009_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800\" width=\"184\" height=\"244\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>(After wearing this sweater on two chilly days last week I have decided to knit the shawl collar, which you can see in progress)<\/p>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n<p>While knitting I listened to my audible copy of <em>The Pillars of the Earth<\/em>, by Ken Follett, read by John Lee.&#160; I\u2019ve wanted to read this book for years and never got around to it.&#160; To listen while knitting was a delightfully guilty pleasure!&#160; It\u2019s hard to imagine wanting to actually read anything ever again when I can listen to someone who was chosen to read for their lyrical voice while I continue to knit!<a href=\"http:\/\/lh5.ggpht.com\/_wMHmSKIt2bg\/Sq5gvRedypI\/AAAAAAAABSo\/RS_t2hRHnSc\/s1600-h\/PillarsoftheEarth3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px\" title=\"Pillars of the Earth\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Pillars of the Earth\" src=\"http:\/\/lh3.ggpht.com\/_wMHmSKIt2bg\/Sq5gvtweu9I\/AAAAAAAABSs\/QIxvBIb-3l4\/PillarsoftheEarth_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800\" width=\"158\" height=\"158\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Although I listened to four books on audible this summer,&#160; I did manage to actually read two books:&#160; <em>The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society <\/em>by Mary Ann Shaffer and her niece Annie Barrows, and <em>The Elegance of Hedgehogs <\/em>by Muriel Barbery (translated from French by Alison Anderson).&#160; Both were delightful for the same reason! \u2026a quirky look at a particular time period in a particular niche of society.&#160; Both were so well done that&#160; I regret finishing them!
